🚆 What is the BTS Skytrain?

The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), known as the Skytrain, is an elevated rapid transit system running above Bangkok’s busy roads.

• Opened in December 1999

• Operated by Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company (BTSC)

• One of the most important ways to avoid traffic jams in the city

📍 BTS Lines & Routes

1. Sukhumvit Line (Light Green)

   • Runs north–south through Bangkok.

   • Key stations: Mo Chit (Chatuchak Market) → Siam (Central Interchange) → Asok (Terminal 21) → Ekkamai (Bus Terminal to Pattaya) → Bang Na & Bearing → Kheha (Samut Prakan).

2. Silom Line (Dark Green)

   • Runs west–east through Bangkok.

   • Key stations: Bang Wa → Wongwian Yai → Saphan Taksin (Central Pier, river boats) → Sala Daeng (Silom nightlife) → Siam (interchange with Sukhumvit line).

🔄 Both lines intersect at Siam Station, the busiest stop.

• Single Journey Ticket: Price depends on distance (16–59 THB).

• Rabbit Card: A rechargeable smart card (convenient for daily users).

• One-Day Pass: Unlimited rides for 24 hours (150 THB).

• Stored Value Cards: Easy tap-in, tap-out system.

• Daily from 5:30 AM – Midnight

• Trains every 3–6 minutes during peak hours

• Every 7–10 minutes off-peak
